March news
Where has February gone? It was another busy month for us at TMTerrain.
March, of course, sees the next London Toy soldier show on March 26th. It should be another good event with lots of new John Jenkins figures on view. We hope John will be with us again but that is yet to be confirmed.
Anyway, onto what will be coming out in March. The only things that will be out and ready to buy will be from John Jenkins.
First Legion have announced more DAK figures and tanks but they will not be available until April so more details in the April newsletter.
Collectors Showcase has also announced new product but as ey we have no prices or timings. These do look very exciting- a british Napoleonic Horse artillery galloping limber, an 88mm German gun and SDKFZ 7 halftrack and an ACW Zouarve unit- more details in the next newsletter.
Now, onto John Jenkins releases for March.
John Jenkins March releases
John Jenkins is really getting in the swing with the Knights of the Skies range. This month sees the fourth plane in the series-SOPWITH CAMEL, F2137, flown by Captain D. R. Maclaren, No.46 Sqn. Athies, October 1918. Captain Maclaren used this Camel F2137 “U” to claim his last nine victories during September- October 1918. This brought his total tally to 54 Kills. The model is still only £130.
All four of the planes in the range will be on display at London so if you are still resisting then come and have a look.
The Jacobite range is added to this month with JR23
These are the first release in the Jacobite range of the Lowland scots.Jacobite Regiments were known to include large numbers of lowland companies. Some felt that these regiments were less “wild” than the ones from the west. The real difference was that the regiment was raised by the personal exertions of their officers rather than called or forced out as clan levies. This set is only £45 for a set of two so really good value. If you haven't collected the Highlanders then you should start on the Lowlanders straight away!
The latest release in the Sudan range adds to the Naval Brigade with two more firing figures. SRN03 is only £40 for the two figure set. The set now allows you to make a substantial display of the naval brigade. This is such an exciting range. Mark and I are looking forward to displaying the full range in London. They will look spectacular especially on one of our Sudan display boards.
The Raid on St Francis range sees a very imaginative release with two Indians carrying their canoe above their heads. RSF08 is a must if you collect the raid on St Francis range but also if you collect Johns Indians. We think this will prove a very popular set and with it limited to just 500 sets worldwide you really need to pick this set up as early as you can. £75 and the set is yours.
Quebec sees the release of QB25 two French Infanty marching in summer dress. They belong to the Regiment De Languedoc. This range has been very well supported by John and continues to be so. This set is only £40 for two figures- some of the best value you will find in the Toy Soldier hobby.
Finally this month, news of the Collectors Club.
Club set 7 has been announced this month. Red Jacket, Chief of the Senecas. Red Jacket was one of the leaders of the native force that served with Porter’s Third Brigade during the campaign of 1814. At Chippawa, the native warriors of both sides fought a violent battle in which no quarter was asked and none was given. Red Jacket took this name, from a highly embroidered coat given to him by the British for his wartime services.
Club members will be able to pre order it throughout March.
Price to be confirmed. This is a beautiful figure so make sure you order it in March to guarantee you get one.
That is it this month. Remember the price rises in May so start saving for the London Show on the 26th to get as much as you can at the old prices!
